Spicy Beef Rolls

1 lb. ground chuck

1 Tbs. finely chopped onion

½ cup tomato sauce

½ cup catsup

2 Tbs. grated Parmesan cheese

½ tsp. garlic powder

¼ tsp. fennel seeds

1/8 tsp. ground oregano

garlic spread (recipe follows)

6 kaiser rolls, split

6 slices Mozzarella cheese, 3" sq.

Combine ground chuck and onion in a heavy skillet. Cook over medium heat until beef is browned, stirring to crumble meat. Drain. Add tomato sauce and catsup, Parmesan cheese and seasonings, mixing well. Simmer 20 minutes.

Spread ½ teaspoon garlic spread in cut edges of each roll. Spoon beef mixture evenly on bottom halves; place a cheese slice over beef. Replace top halves. Wrap sandwiches in aluminum foil; bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

GARLIC SPREAD

2 Tbs. butter or margarine, softened

¼ tsp. garlic powder

½ tsp. paprika

Combine all ingredients and mix well
